CASI Team Performs Second Successful TAPS Shutdown of the Year
Chugach Alaska Serivces Inc. (CASI) performed another very successful shutdown and maintenance operation supporting Alyeska Pipeline Service Company’s retrofit of Pump Station 8 and other projects throughout the Trans Alaska Pipeline (TAPS) this past weekend. It was a flawless operation but so complex and intricate that it took the use of nearly all the equipment that was preposition and the vast experience and skill of our workforce. This 36-hour operation was completed Sunday evening and the flow of oil through the Pipeline was safely restarted at approximately 8 p.m. Special thanks go to our superintendents Tim Sullivan and Devin Swanson, as well as our General Foreman Brad McGhee for their superb leadership of this successful effort.
